Membership in the Pickens Senior Center is open to any individual 55 or older who resides in Pickens County or the surrounding area. The Senior Center is run totally by volunteers and receives no subsidies for meals or programs. Anyone is welcome and appreciated as a member or volunteer and donations are also appreciated and needed.

What Pickens Senior Center Offers You

  • Meals – The Center serves lunch Monday through Friday (except Holidays) and dinner on Tuesday night prepared in our kitchen at the Center by volunteers. The requested donation for members for lunch is $3.00 and $5.00 for dinner.

  • Entertainment – most days, prior to lunch there will be some great musical entertainment or other program. The Senior Band (everyone welcome) plays on Tuesday nights.

  • Bingo – 3 days a week, in the morning, with prizes.

  • Pool Tables – Two tables are available when the Center is open.

  • Fitness Classes – Two dedicated senior fitness classes each week. Additional classes available in the building with Cannon Hospital Fitness Programs as well as some programs available on DVD. Tai Chi classes are also held twice a week.

  • Lending Library

  • Television Room

  • Internet Access – throughout the facility

  • Special Events – Holiday dinners, special raffles, King & Queen contest, Veterans Day Program and Memorial service.

  • Fund Raising Activities – the Center participates in the Azalea Festival, Founders Day, The Gathering on Appalachian Life, and the BBQ & Bluegrass Fundraiser.

  • The Granger Fiber Arts Center –located in the Hagood Center welcomes members and teaches classes daily in the Fiber Arts.
